Ania Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 8, 2026
Ania is a family digital-safety assistant. It runs on a private server operated by your family's organizer — not on a shared cloud service — and this policy describes exactly what it stores and who can see it.
What we collect
- The messages, links, phone numbers, and screenshots you send to Ania for checking. These are stored so you can see your own history and so the service can work across visits.
- The phone number your family organizer entered for you, so Ania can reply to you and send you safety alerts if you choose.
- Basic household setup (names, roles, privacy choices) entered by your organizer.
What we never do
- We never sell or share your data with third parties. There are no advertising or analytics trackers in the product.
- SMS opt-in data and consent records are not shared with any third party for marketing or any other purpose. The only exception is our SMS delivery provider (Twilio), which processes messages solely to deliver them to and from your phone.
- If an AI provider key is configured, message text and screenshots may be sent to that provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) to analyze them; your organizer will tell you if that's on. With no key configured, nothing leaves your family's server.
Who can see what
- You always see your own full history.
- Your family guardian sees events only — that a suspicious message arrived and what Ania did — never your conversations. You control this with your privacy dial: Private (they see nothing), or sharing levels you choose.
- Screenshots you send are visible to your guardian while an incident is open and are permanently deleted the moment it's handled or resolved.
SMS program details
- Message frequency varies. Most replies are responses to messages you send; recurring texts are at most one weekly summary and occasional safety alerts.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop receiving texts from Ania at any time. Reply HELP for help.
- Your carrier's standard messaging rates apply to both inbound and outbound messages.
Deleting your data
- Your organizer can delete your member record, which removes your messages, incidents, and phone number from the service.
- Message history is retained for 90 days by an automatic sweep; incident records are kept 30 days after resolution.
- Your organizer can delete the whole household, which removes everything.
Contact
- Questions about this policy: contact your family organizer, who operates this Ania server.
